Not everyone can adopt a dachshund. Many people, though, would love to sponsor one until he or she is adopted. If you'd like to sponsor a specific dog, email us at GulfCoastDachshundRescue@yahoo.com for that dog's foster home information. You can send your donation directly to the dog you want to sponsor!! If you'd like to send monetary donations, you may send them directly to our treasurer by paypal. Just click on the donate button.
Be sure to put a note that it's dedicated to the veterinary care of the dachshund you want to sponsor.
Every dachshund deserves the "simple" things in life. Here is a list of things that our fosters are always in need of:
- Gift-cards for dog food- usually purchased at Walmart, Target or PetsMart.
- Collars
- Leashes
- Beds/Blankets
- Toys
- Treats
- Flea preventative
- Heart-worm preventative (including ivermectin)
- Travel crates to get them to their new home
- Wire crates for comfort at their foster home
- Gift cards for any of the above items
- Pet tags with GCDR's information
Our fosters are also in need of vetting care. You can help with that! The typical cost for each procedure is noted. Donations are greatly appreciated for the following procedures:
- Heart-worm treatment - 150.00-200.00
- Dentals - 75.00-100.00
- Vaccinations/heart-worm check/check-up - 50.00-60.00
- Wormer - 15.00-25.00
- Various antibiotics/treatments - 25.00-50.00
